Not Eating

I bought an adult female from a pet shop. She ate about 3 times and then quit eating. It has been two months since she last ate. I know it is normal for them to go off feeding for a little while. She still has some body weight to her. Even though she has lost probably half her size. I have tried dead and live rats and mice but she will not eat either. Should I be worried and what do I need to do?

If you could give as much info as possible to all the guys and girls we will be able to help better!
How many hides? What type of enclosure? What is the humidity? What are you temps? Hot and cool side? Last time she shed? You think she is due to shed, any signs?

Shes lost half her body weight? Ive had one go 9 months without eating and didnt even lose 100 grams, you should take her to the vet, it could be parasites, that could cause her to lose that much weight and cause her not to eat. Just an idea, it may not be parasites but her losing that much weight, it makes one wonder.

I didnt mean she lost half her weight. She just seemed to get a whole lot smaller around. But since I have posted she has eaten a mouse. I guess it just took me posting a messege to get her to eat!!!

Glad she ate for you Trey. Keep on offering her appropriate prey on the same evening once per week, BP's love routines they can learn to recognize in their basic snakey ways. Having gotten a couple of adult females from pet stores I would advise you though to watch her closely for signs of mites as some pet stores aren't all that careful that way. As well there's just nothing better than getting a fecal float done by your trusty herp vet. With an adult pet store "find" you just never know what they've been through or been exposed to so it's a great way of finding out if you are dealing with a basically healthy snake to begin with.
