Snakes sometimes bleed around the cloacal opening when shedding. Did he shed today?

    Re: blood!!

Is it possible the blood is from his last feeding? Or maybe something in the cage has a sharp little edge or corner that he snagged himself on?

If I were in your shoes, I'd take him out and examine him very closely for any tiny little wound, and check his mouth as well.

    Re: blood!!

I would call a reptile pet store and get their thoughts. I have one here that even said I could take my bp in if I had any questions.
