    New Ball Python Shipment

or I should say New BAD Shipment.

The past two weeks we were buying what was left of a breeder who is getting out of ball python breeding.

We had a good deal for the remaining 9 ball pythons he had left.

This is what we were getting.
3.1 late 2005 50% possible het for VPI axanthic
0.2 normals, one of which is a proven breeder and dam to the others listed, this one weighing in at 2447 grams. The other at 900 grams.
    1.1 High Yellow
    0.1 aberrant patterned

When the package came in it was labeled only "Fragile", which usually means to package handlers that its ok to use this package for dunk shots.

The package was sent overnight. When we received the very smelly package we noticed there were no heat packs or packing material to hold the snakes into place. The big girls were in a snake bag in the middle of the package. On each side was a plastic shoe box with tiny holes only put on the lid. One shoe box had 4 axanthics, of which 2 were dead. The other shoe box had the remainder ball pythons.

These poor pythons were really blue and dazed and one was gasping for breath.

The two dead ones most likely froze to death and also by lack of oxygen.

We are warming up the survivors slowly and they seem to be settling in some. All I can think of was how careless this shipment was.

This Saddens me very much. It also breaks rules that all carriers have in place that states you must mark all packages that have live animals in them and furthermore, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe FedEx requires that you mark the package with "Live Animal" AND "non-venomous or harmless Snake".

Wow, that is absolutely horrible. Have you spoken to the idiot who sold them to you? Care to divulge his name so we all know to stay far away? I hope you can save the rest..It kills me to see animals suffering or to know they have suffered.

    Re: New Ball Python Shipment

I fell that a few *** beatings are in order **** that ******* breeder he's a real ******* ud think a breeder would know what to do and the ups ppl im so angry!!! im very sorry for ur losses id get right with that breeder and ask him what hes going to do about the 2 dead and the other poor snakes he abused by sending them like that u should be in the way of a refund hope hes a man and knows whats right and does it im so sorry u had to deal with that shipment of horrors and am very very happy that the remaining snakes have a home where they will be properly cared for

EDIT by JLC: I know you're angry, but that does not excuse the use of vulgar language. You are also skating very close to violating the TOS, threatening geniune bodily harm to someone else.

That's horrible...wait for the dead ones to really stink, then send them back to him with a note demanding the refund. Take pictures of the box they came in as well, evidence never hurts.

    Re: New Ball Python Shipment

I have just been emailing with the person that I have bought the snakes from and he is very adamant that he did not ship them that way and is going to check out what has happened.

I will at this point give him the benefit of the doubt but I don't see why anyone would change an entire shipping box. Also the box had on the side "Red's Collection"

I will keep you posted on what happens.

If anyone is interested I am keeping a running posting on my forum The Lizard Corral.

Just click on the link for the forum in my signature and go into the ball pythons board. The posting are there.

Thanks for all the concern. This forum is a class act with good and non-bashing members.

    Re: New Ball Python Shipment

I would send him a box of poop (maybe not my own but maybe someones dogs) through the mail and make the box look all nice with flashy wrapping paper. as soon as he opens it he'll be disgusted! just how you felt when you got those poor babies!

Alright i guess im a sicko!
