Heh, I found out the hard way that some mothers are greedy. Two female rats were together until I could build another rack, and i think both gave birth to 15... slowly over 30 hours the one other stole a few at a time while the other mother was at the water/food area. Ended up being 28 on one and 2 or 3 under the other. was pretty funny
