And congrats!!! Is this your first child?

I agree completely! I have 2 kids, and was specifically told by my doc NOT to ever clean the litter box, or even be in the same room where I might breathe some dust. (something about something in cat feces can cause miscairages) The doc, who happened to have a BIG burmese beauty, said as long as you dont touch your face before you wash your hands you shouldnt have any problems. The doc said if you come in contact with the snake poo, you could get salmonella if you feed your snake an infected mouse, but even then, wash with antibacterial soup, and you'll be in the clear.

probably. I was, however, told salmonella, but to be honest, I never wash up after holding Nag, and I have yet to get sick, so I really kinda thought salmonella didnt sound quite right to me.

Re: Ball pythons and Preggie women? question!

Salmonella is the issue with handling reptiles. For anyone...not just pregnant women. Toxoplasmosis is the issue with cat feces. It won't harm a normal, healthy person, but it can cause very serious problems with a pregnancy.

    Yeah what she said. Ha.

You can also get salmonella from deer too.

I can only hope *grin* this is what happens when you have 4 different sleep disorders in one person. LOL sux bigtime. c'est la vie, non?

I am a walking medical dictionary. kind of like why I like having a snake. you dont have to make sure they dont poo pn the floor, and the only thing worse than cold kittie puke outside your bedroom door at 3am, is WARM kittie puke outside your bedroom door at 3am LOL

once you figure out what you are doing, snakes are easy compaired to a neurotic 1 year old kittie, and 2 6 year old kitties.
