    Question Too shallow?

I've got GOBS of caging websites bookmarked, and I've taken (and am STILL taking) oodles & oodles of notes about cages, but I'm having trouble w/visualizing the sizes.

Home Depot has some under-bed sweater boxes for sale. They're the ones w/the the snap-close lid that's hinged in the middle and the plastic wheels. IMO they're a really great deal. ($20 or was it $10??? I thought it was 10 but I saw them over a week ago. :raspberries: ) The floor space is just right, but my question is, is there enough headroom for a large RTB????? I know that they don't have to have as much head room as an arboreal snake that will hang and climb but these boxes just don't seem to be deep enough.

I'd have to take one of my larger snake bowls w/me to "try them out" but I just can't envision a larger RTB being able to squeeze between the rim of the bowl and the "roof" in order to get a drink.

I'm looking at them for Wrigley and Pinky T's forever home. I have a little time before they need that much room, but since I'm a visual sort of person, they look like they're not deep enough from lid to floor. < I don't know the dimensions, sorry! It's been one of THOSE weeks here at work! >

What do y'all think????? The other one of it is, I have all but the tank ready and was going to try a big tub and get one of ooRob00's RTBs. The tubs and tanks (vivs) that I DO have right now aren't big enough for the little 9 pounder girl. I was thinking of getting one of these under-bed boxes but I'm just not sure.

    Your comments are appreciated. TIA!!!

    Re: Too shallow?

i'm not a boa guy, but from what i've read/heard/seen most keep their boas in 4'x2'x12" cages at min. larger females may need bigger like 6'x2'x2'.
