I've seen that video before. Nothing a little CO2 can't take care of.

I know it's Life, but that sort of video makes me feel sorry for the mouse. Can U imagine the stress and heart pounding???? He's just trying to escape because he knows he has to survive. How scary.

    Re: Hyper Mouse

I had someone tell me how horrible it was that I feed mice and rats to my snakes. I had them look at it this way...

Mice and Rats can have babies every three weeks, and the average litter is lets say 10. If you figure that there are 52 weeks in a year, and the gestation is 3 weeks each female mouse could have roughly 17 litters per year, or 170 mice...and that's just one female mouse.

Well most snakes only have an average clutch of 6 eggs once a year and those snakes will eat one mouse or rat every week...so I think the rodents are doing okay.

She says to me, well if you put it that way! LOL

    Re: Hyper Mouse

I know, I know! And you won't catch me starving my snakes, but geeez! I still hate it to have to give 'em a baby rat. Even after I gassed and froze 'em. Maybe I'll just keep buying them so they're not ones I've SEEN popcorning all over the cages.

    lol

    Re: Hyper Mouse

Oh yeah, it would make me feel bad for the baby rat who hasn't even opened its eyes to see the world for the first time, but I realize the snake has to eat... I just don't dwell on it.

I feed off a baby rat, and I have 140 more hanging around, no harm no foul

1 mother giving birth to 12 babies every 3 weeks, and half of her babies are females, and they are able to get pregnant at 6 weeks, and give birth to avg litters of 12, which are half female

    in one year

    204
    + 178 * 6
    + 142 * 36
    + 106 * 216
    + 70 * 1296
    + 24 * 7776

    = 306,624 rats

    yikes
