    Post Moving to Ireland...

I'm planning to move to Ireland and I'm wondering if anyone knows the law, when it comes to bringing snakes across into Europe?!?!

I have a corn snake and a BP, and I dont need to bring there tanks cause I could get new ones over there, but I dont want to have to give my snakes away and not have any idea how well they will be treated, without going through lots of trouble!

I'd like to keep my pals... Does anyone have any ideas...

I've been surfing the net a lil looking but not really much about it!

    Can anyone help!?!?!

    Re: Moving to Ireland...

Is it the transportation TO Ireland you are more concerned with or the laws governing what you can keep once in Ireland, lad?

    Re: Moving to Ireland...

That sucks....unfortunately, your snake is probably going to have to sit in quarantine in customs for a given length of time. I don't know ireland's exact laws, but I know thats how it is for reptiles coming over here.

    google is your friend: http://oasis.gov.ie/moving_country/m...o_ireland.html

    Post Re: Moving to Ireland...

Well I'm sure I can get Air Canada to fly them over somehow but I will have to talk to them about that...

I'm more concerned about the process they have to go through in order to enter Ireland...

Do they need some kinda vacination?
How is quarantine going to affect my snake?
How will he keep warm during that time?
and is it cheaper to buy a new snake over in Ireland?
I'd rather keep my snakes though! Who wouldnt!

I guess I could email the Herp Society in Ireland!
    I just found there address!
    They might know more!

    Cheers for your input gang!!!

    Re: Moving to Ireland...

not a problem. Anything for a fellow american. just let me know when you will be here and I can give you an itenerary to go see as much as you can to help you make the decision. I live in the southeastern most point of ireland and can tell you the beaches are stunning, no matter how much snow falls they cant drive in it........lol and they speak faster than an auctioneer for the most part.........lol And I have lived here for the better part of 10 years.

I am glad that I could help and I truely hope that link was of help to you. at the end of the page it actually has a form to fill out for ppl who can ship your babies over. ANd hey, if you are delayed you can ask me ot care for them til you get here........lol Just call me the reptile sitter......lol from rescues to watching over friends babies I do it all.........lol

    Regards,
    Beauty the BP
