The first feeding was a success!!

Last night my little Flannery ate her first meal! I had never seen a snake eat except on tv, so I was completely fascinated. She ate a fuzzy rat, about the size of an adult mouse, but I thought a fuzzy would be much easier to deal with than a mouse.
The only think I didn't expect was the screaming. Yikes.
I was a little worried, because her first strike missed the rat, but a couple minutes later she got it right.

Congratulations! Yeah, they "miss" sometimes...glad to hear it was successful!

And I agree with you...watching snakes feed is absolutely amazing. Can you imagine stuffing a whole chicken down your own throat?! Mmm tasty!

Haha, Smartass. I remember the first time the mice "screamed." Justin was like, "Dude! That's soo cool." I just kind of smiled to myself. It's so rewarding watching them eat. Speaking of...need to feed the kids.

Ehh..I don't find any animal in pain to be exciting or something to smile at, but that's just me. But I agree its rewarding watching them eat.

I think the smile is more of a "YES! She finally ate!" than a "AHAHA! She's an evil predator who'll bring doom to all rodents!"

They've got to eat too, and someone's got to be put under the knife for her to survive so to speak. Besides...I don't think going Vegan would be very healthy for her. ^_^

    Vomitore,
Why did you do that to me? Now I have a mental image of a BP in a long blond wig, holding a mike in its tail, rocking back and forth and singing "Welcome to the Jungle". Not a mental picture I needed on no sleep!!! LOL
