New to the forum and have a computer problem
Hey, I am new to this forum and I am having a problem with the site. I cannot see any icons or pictures. Not even the buttons for the posting tools above this box. I can't see any graphics at all. I have cleared my cache and cookies and turned off my ad blocking software, all to no avail. I am using Windows XP and IE 6. I do not have this problem with any other forum I am on. I have contacted the webmaster, who didn't know what the problem was. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? No other forum I'm on is doing this. If anyone could please help me, I'd really love to participate in this forum.
I have two ball pythons, four corn snakes, and a California king snake. I also have a dog and a cat. One of the ball pythons is really my son's. I got my first snake at age 12, coincidentally, so did my son. My ball is named Slider, hence my user name. My son named his Monty, but he is named, not after Monty Python, but rather after Uncle Monty Montgomery from A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Welcome slider...
Off the top of my head check to see if you have sp2 for IE6 as well as sp2 for XP. Wait this is for the pro version not home edition. But the IE sp2 still applies. If that doesn't work let me introduce you to a good friend of mine FireFox (Mozilla)... Hope that helps the effort.

Appreciate the promotion!
I tried to replicate but just couldn't do it for the life of me. If anyone else is experiencing this let me know - but folks are usually very vocal and fast to notify whenever there are issues.
Welcome aboard and I hope you can get it resolved!

I don't know what that means. I don't get into all the technical stuff of the computer world.
Just one more question, though. If it were IE6 that was causing the problem, wouldn't I be having the same trouble on every website/forum I visit? Because in all the time I've been online, in all the many forums I've visited, this is the first and only one that has ever done this.
Thanks for you help anyway.

No. I see this all the time where one person might have success with one site and another might not. I didn't mean to sound to techie, sorry. As a simple test try to use another web browser and see if the challenge is still there?

No I don't have Zone Alarm. I tried Firefox, and it helped a little. But I still can't see pictures or gifs or the little text formatting button things. I don't know what to try next. Thanks for trying to help, though.

Have you tried restarting your computer?
I know that's not too much of a technical fix, but its definately worth a shot.
Maybe reload IE?

Yep, I've tried both of those to no avail. I'm totally at a loss as to why this is doing this. I'd love to see all the pics on this forum, and to post some of my own. Well, I could still post them, but I woudn't be able to see them.

Re: New to the forum and have a computer problem
The only other thought I can come up with is to start systematically shutting programs down. One by one, until you figure out where the conflict is. I know it's frustrating! Good luck figuring it out, and I'm sorry I'm no help.
