What if the power goes out?
Don't have a snake yet, but the scheduled power outtage this Sunday morning (power will be out for 6 hours) got me to thinking - what do you do if there is a power outtage? (aside from hope it isn't out too long) When living in Ohio, we had the power out for a week... but it wouldn't have been a problem for snakes at least - hottest week of the year.

Re: What if the power goes out?
Some people have backup generators (I wish )
I would say toss a few heat packs in with them depending on size... They survive shipping that way, so why shouldnt it work in a closed tub, cage?
Other than that, I could say for winter, have a propane heater available that you can fire up and heat up the room (but monitor it!)
I am very interested in this as well, so any other input MUCH appreciated.

Re: What if the power goes out?
This has been discussed before. UPS unit are also a good solution. These are items used for PC's. If the plan is to keep 1 enclosure warm then a 200 - 500 watt unit is fine for a few days, else, a large unit would be in order and a box of heat packs.. Hope this helps...

Re: What if the power goes out?
I've heard of people using a bottle of hot/warm water placed in the enclosure before too in a pinch, but I don't know how well that works in practice.
