    Re: Dragon Wrassling

We really did get the best of both worlds! Poor Neptune though, seems like yesterday stressed him, he refused his rat today Everyone else ate like a pro (Heck, Ma-tsu practically got up and begged!) but Neptune decided his rat was better suited as a fuzzy headrest till he decided to retire to his hide. I keep thinking one medium rat is too small for them, but they're not that thick around just really long... maybe two small rats in the future like the fellow does in that Reptiles article.

Still, I'm proud of how yesterday went, I'm just not going to do it right before feeding day again. His behavior *totally* reminds me of your Mz B stories, Jo! And he really is teaching us a lot! Whew! And I love him for it. I keep calling him our dragon because he looks and acts like one. Intimidating but exciting and breathtaking all at once.

Ma-tsu is the complete opposite. If I lean over her tank she comes up to meet me, tongue flicking, and follows my movement all curious and sweet. They're unbelievable snakes, and I'm *very* interested in specializing in them. I couldn't ask for a better pair to give us experience on both sides of the spectrum.

Of course, Gomez is still our beloved squishy lapsnake who's our favorite for cuddles. Colubrids are so hyper! He just had a gorgeous shed too! Mon cher!

EDIT: And I know what you mean about kids, I used to work at a daycare. Karen has lamented before that it's a shame we can't reason with our animals like you can children, but I've assured her... that's not always true of children!! lol!
