ok i have heard that aspen shavings are not good to use cause of the problem of the shavings getting into the mouth which could cause problems, the thing is i would like to use sand which also retains heat alot better and wont get stuck in there mouth is this ok to use?

I would not use sand for ball pythons. Cypress mulch, aspen shavings, and newsprint will be the most widely used in tubs/enclosures. The first two most commonly used because they do wonders on holding humidity, and paper because of the ease of cleaning.

Sand really does not retain heat as well as you may think. You don't have to worry about them ingesting aspen/cypress, if you think about it they have to digest mouse/rat hair and bones whats a little wood in the mix?

hey wel thanks alot jason. i have just been reading alot on these guys and i am getting diff. suggestions on theyer bedding and hides and stuff like that.. but thanks again that is a really big help
