    Flexwatt And Thermostat

do you need to put 3" flex and 11" flex on different thermostats?

    Re: Flexwatt And Thermostat

I've not used more than one size, but my guess is that you would. They probably have different wattages. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can correct me if I'm wrong!

    Re: Flexwatt And Thermostat

Yes, you'd have to put them on different thermostats...because it can only measure one heat source to decide when to turn on/off (or decide how much power flow to restrict in the case of a proportional). So...if you put the probe near the 11" flexwatt, the t-stat will shut off long before the 3" reaches the same temps...or if you put it near the 3", it will make the 11" get way too hot.

Plugging muliptle heat sources into a single t-stat only works safely if you are using identical heat sources set up with identical enclosures.

I'd be interested to know how differently it really does heat up. I have put different types of flexwatt (Calorique, trex and whatever the other is) on the same tstat and gotten near identical temps. Matt could prob answer this for us. Cmon big guy!
