    Re: Lars Racks

I need some advice on my racks.

On the bottom rack you see in the pics my temps are way off. I noticed my BPs have been staying on the cool side for the most part so I did some investigating. I put the thermostat right over the flexwatt. I have an 1' x 1' piece under each tub. My temps under the tubs are 125F. I know this is no good. My temps on the cool side are roght on. I just lowered my temps on the thermostat and will be chekcing them often to see of the hot side will go down.

They are 41qt tubs with newspaper substrate and the flexwatt is taped to the bottom of the tub. I am about ready to put the whole rack on a dimmer switch. The temps are monitored almot 24/7 here so that isn't really an issue. Any suggestions?

I guess I am lucky to have had all 5 snakes eat on Monday.

you need a thermostat, proportional stats are best.

    Re: Lars Racks

Thanks for that link Vaughn. Mike and I are going to order that Helix DBS1000 (grounded as I assume this is preferred). I was quite pleased to find that Helix are considered top of the line yet are quite reasonably priced.

We're considering their new racks as well. Very nice looking and as far as I can see a quite reasonable price. Any experience with their new/older models? Wonder if they will be doing a slightly bigger one though as I'm wondering if the largest bins are okay for my biggest females (sorry to hijack your thread a bit Lars).
