What did you do with YOUR tax return?

Well yesterday and today I spent the better portion of my tax return and paycheck on snake stuff. As I posted earlier yesterday I ordered a Reptile Basics Sweaterbox Rack to move my two adults in to.

Today, doing some window shopping on the net I decided I would go ahead and order a PE Tempgun, and my Helix DBS-1000 thermostat to regulate the new rack that will be coming.

And we all know that having empty slots in a rack never works out...so today I put my first payment down on a 50% het for albino 1165 gram female to add a breeder to the list for next year. After the rack is home and set-up she will be paid off and on her way, and then I'll be purchasing a 100% het albino male for her to try and prove her out.

So I have a lot of presents that are on their way within the next few weeks, and even better than that is, spring break, so I'm using my time off to work on the herp room, and get my leo/hatchling rack put together.

sounds like you made out pretty well! i on the other hand, have yet to receive my return. that being mostly because i haven't filed yet. i HAVE actually started the process but unfortunately my taxes are complicated because of self employment and a bunch of other fun stuff like that. when i do get my return i'm sure at least some portion of it will go toward herps/herps supplies. maybe some more crested gecko cages.

That sounds fun! Don't you love filing taxes? I have yet to get into crested geckos, they are cute little things though. Maybe someday. LOL

Mine went towards snakes and snake supplies. My profit sharing check is going to towards my Helix thermostat (it wasn't a "life changing" check, so not a lot I could do with it! LOL) and Kevin McCurley's The Ultimate Ball Python book. When our stock goes over a certain dollar amount, I plan to cash in some of my stock options and purchase a rack and some more females.

Hmm, what did Bri and I do with our tax money....


paid bills (gas and electric) that have managed to sky rocket over the winter due to higher costs, got ahead on the rent payment a bit, tires for the car for the hubby, total brake job including brake lines on my bronco (oh yeah that was fun, seeing as though it had to be done in the mud and snow that was on the ground).... got the kids new clothes (as if Victoria needed more, but after all, she is a girl and must have plenty of clothes to pick through to still say she has nothing to wear..lol.... yes I love you Victoria, but you my dear are a clothes and shoe horse)..... a few new PS2 games , a couple of computer games for me... and I think thats about it...

Return? Heh I owe them bastards $700. Sucks being single. It just pisses me off that they rape me in taxes all year long and then have the nerve to say I owe them money. Ok I feel better now that this is off my chest.

Hmm, yeah we owe the city tax money, all b/c my hubby works in another city, so they take city tax for his city of employment, but not the city we live in... screwy Ohio I tell ya! And they say you get credit for paying tax in another city toward your tax in the city you live..but they are full of it, you still end up in the "I owe" situation.

Funny thing is, here in Ohio, you pay your standard taxes (fed and state), but then you pay city tax for the place you work, and the place you live (if different), plus you end up paying a separate school tax for both places in the end (if work and home city is different). This is the first place I have ever lived that the schools have thier own tax separate from the city tax.... and yet, my daughter goes to school in another "town" cause my local schools suck and are pretty run down.
