I just wonder how the black guy goes about is everyday life. He seems kind of angry and bitter. With that attitude, I'm sure he could interpret the actions of others to kinda of "fit" how he expects white people to treat him, when really those actions are not racially motivated in any way.
I think the black guy should learn from his son- his son explicitly stated that his generation doesn't really see race as very important, if you get along that's cool, if you don't, you don't.
