heating, flexwatt vs ZooMed
To heat a AP T-3, what is better and why? Flexwatt or a ZooMed UTH. I will be heating the belly of thew cage.
Is the cable they offer any good?

Re: heating, flexwatt vs ZooMed
They are both similar (flexwatt and zoomed). I have had up and down experiences with heat cable, but that was before I knew how to use it (also had a defective one). The deal with the heat cable is it takes a lot more time to heat up and stabilize but once it does its pretty good. Flexwatt for APs is not a great idea because they are so thick and solid. Go with the heat cable and a good tstat.

A proportional t-stat is what Animal Plastics recommends w/ their heat cable.
I have it installed in my ap cage w/ a Helix and it works great!
Don't have much experience w/ flexwatt but I would have to agree it seems the bottom of ap cages would be kinda thick for it.

Do you need to heat the other side of the cage? If so, with what?

Re: heating, flexwatt vs ZooMed
I have a T-11 which is larger and I live in a somewhat cold house so I heat the other side w/ a light and a 100watt red bulb which is hook up to a t-stat also.
I am sure others who have T-3's can give you some great info on what they use.
