    OMG another stupid shed question

ok so lucifer is about to shed any day now........he's been soaking in his water bowl for the last week or so, his skin is dull and his eyes are dull/blueish as well.....so its obvious she sgoign to shed...the humiodity is about 75 but my question is........

tonight once he came out of hsi hide he stood as far stright up as he could.....streched his lil heart out the struck at the air.....its kinda hard to describe but i hope you get the picture.....then he would do it again but keep his mouth open and make these 2 weird @$$ sounds....sounds like a freakign bird call.....and the other sounded liek a kiss and im not kidding.......he woudl strech as far as he could strike complety verticle at nothing then hold his mouth open and make this noise

it was like eeeeekkk-ek-ek-ek-eeeeeeekkkkkk(really fast like a bird) or he would make like a kiss noise....like in the movies where its that long sqeeking sound ......if you purse your lips ans suck some air in the make a pucker noise

he did it alot....then he would go crawl around and rub himself on his toys then suddenly give a lil twitch and dart his first 1/3 of his body back and forth....then continue on exploring and rubbing

i noticed last time he shed he struck at the air a couple times and i was just wondering if this is just a normal way of him trying to get his old skin off or what....ive tryed to look for stories similar to this but i cant find any.....does anyone have any ideas???????

(sorry for my brutal typing and sucky noise descriptions but its teh best i can do with a keyboard ! )

The sounds he is making could be a piece of shed blocking the nose and he is trying to breath through his mouth. The striking is normal during a shed and so is the rubbing. The standing up straight part, I'm not too sure off. If its not something you would deem as normal behavior, then you should probably take him to a vet or your local animal emergency room if you think its urgent.

What are your temps doing? Is there any fluid bubbling from his nose? Hopefully this is just a wierd shed....I've never observed this kind of behavior, though. Especially the loud sounds...thats kinda wierd.

I'm certainly no expert - but that just doesn't sound "normal" to me, and I would be alarmed if I observed that with any of my "kids". Call me a hypochondriac, but I would be at the vets office in a flash if any of mine displayed that behavior.

It "sounds" to me like he's gasping for air, and making those noises. If that's the case, he needs to be seen right away!

Time or distance wouldn't matter to me. Keep in mind that having a symptom described and seeing it in person are two different things.

I'm not trying to be critical, I just don't anything to happen to your baby and then have you wish you had him seen early on.

Why don't you take a video of it so when you go to the vet, if you go, the vet doesn't have to wait a few hours to see it. And maybe when you get there he would be stressed and won't "perform" for you.
