Retained eyecap, ugh

So Parsel had his first shed with me, and I thought everything went pretty good overall. When he shed I looked at the head part and both eyecaps seemed to be there, but now about 2 weeks later I see a bit of flakey scale on his eye (he's very head shy and he finally let me get a good look to check... didn't think I needed to push the issue after all since i thought all was good). What do I do about getting this off, just soak him and let him rub on some wet towels or what?

That will work. Also my vet told me a great thing for retained eyecaps.
Just a drop of mineral oil on each eye. Doesn't bother or hurt the snake and will usually come off w/ one or two treatments. Just put a drop on each eye and that's it.

I also have the same problem. The one that has the eyecaps is about to shed so i heard that if you take a Q tip and soak it in baby oil and then rub it on the snakes eye and have high humidity it will ocme off. But my vet told me to use contact drops instead so that is what I am going to do. If anyone has any comments on this then please let me know. Also sorry for thead stealing.

I recently obtained a female with really bad "wrinkly eye", with at least one retained cap. 3 weeks and one shed later kept under the right conditions both eyes are much better. There's really no need to mess with drops or oils or anything like that. Just keep your enclosure at 60% humidity and your snake will take care of the rest!
