do females lay eggs once a year(like birds) even if they arent being bred?
It is extremely rare that a female ball python will lay eggs without being bred. I've only heard of it happening a handful of times.
Usually it takes many factors (environmental changes, copulation with a male, etc) to get females to ovulate and lay eggs.
