It's quite common and rarely if ever has caused a problem to date, but I personally feel working to diversify your breeding stock as much as possible has many advantages for a good breeder.

Ball pythons are still a relatively "new" species as far as captive breeding ... there have only been a handful of captive generations produced to date so it's hard to say .... but if you look to corn snakes, many corn breeders have said that they are into their 11th and 12th generation of related captive breedings and they aren't having any major problems .... yet.
