    Gordon Food Services

Wasn't sure where to post this information LOL.

A friend of mine has iguanas and has found a really good resource I thought I'd pass along to any of you that have critters that eat mixed greens. As well as any of you that want to try using Adam's idea of disposable water containers.

Gordon Food Services aka GFS is a restaurant supplier but open to the general public (though if you have any type of business let them know as you'll get additional discounts). They stock food and dry goods in bulk sizes.

My friend buys a big bag of mixed salad greens that don't include head lettuce which is apparently just water and no good to feed much of anything on. She gets a large bag of very high quality greens for half the price of WalMart for a similar product.

They also stock various sizes of disposable containers, like the kind a restaurant would put take out coleslaw and that sort of thing in, that would be well suited for disposable water dishes.

I do a fair bit of my own family shopping there but thought I'd pass on this little bit of info from a herp point of view.

I just got back from there, saved more than I thought getting cups much like the squat cups to feed my geckos out of. I got the 2 oz. cups cause the 1 oz. was just too tiny and cause they are plastic the sides were quite tall on the 1 oz. cups. Spent $2.49 on 250 solo souffles cups. Not bad and saved a ton cause if I had ordered them online, would have cost me alot more for just the cups and even more to ad shipping to it. They got an awesome selection food wise too, picked up misc. frozen foods for alot less than in a normal grocery store. Looks like that will be one of my fasvorite places to shop!

Yep it's one of our favorites here too Jeanne. The way my family goes through blocks of cheddar cheese for example, I'd have to sell my soul at the regular grocery store prices for good sharp cheddar.

Glad you found a good deal on those souffle cups. My husand used to be a cook and figured those would be what you'd find there. The nice thing is those are a standard stock item (at least they are in our GFS) so you shouldn't have trouble finding them whenever you run out.
