If you have your temps at the proper 82-84 cool side/ 92-94 warm side with an ambient air temp of 82-84, then your snake will decide when it needs to thermoregulate. I would not change the setup unless you are not providing those temps, you dont have proper hides on both side of the enclosure, etc.... The snake is much better at regulating its body temp than you and unless you watch 24/7 how do you know it never goes to the warm side?
