I just got my first ball python last wednesday and had a question, for the first few days i had him he would be in his hide box all day then at night he would come out and roam around and check things out, and when i would wake up in the morning he would be back in his hide, but this morning when i woke up instead of being in a ball inside his hide he has stayed in a ball outside of his hide, all his temperatures and humidity has stayed the same, so i was wondering if his was normal?

sometimes they do like to be out in the open. sometimes my bp will go out and just stretch her body and lay for a couple of hours. it is fine. of course, im not a proffesional, but im pretty sure she and everything else is fine!

Most ball pythons will stay in their hides during the day. They're most active early in the morning and late in the evening. The fact that yours came out and stayed out a while probably just means that he or she is getting used to its new enclosure. The more comfortable it becomes, the more you'll see it out.

Just have a quick peek in that hide. I have one ball that won't re-enter a hide if she's dropped a big urate or defecated in there so I always check for that just in case. Also sometimes the hide on the warm side will trap heat and is actually warmer than you realize. My warm side probe is tucked right inside the warm side hide, though it does flucuate a bit when a cool snake suddenly curls on it LOL.
