I read on the care sheets that you should normally wait about 24-36 hours...but some say more...some say less.....what do you gus reccomend...i fed my lil bundle of joy "Lucifer" monday night...it is now wednesday night and i was wondering weather or not it was ok to handle him yet...any advice would be appreacaited thanks

Re: Q about handeling
I wait 48 hours for all of mine. If it's an exceptionally shy snake, or one that ate a really big meal, I may wait a bit longer. You'll get a feel for it.

Re: Q about handeling
Has anybody ever had there snake throw up on them??
Lucifer is about 19 inches long and ate what they call a hopper...who was about the same girth as he is

Re: Q about handeling
He should be fine after 48 hours.
I have not had a snake regurgitate ON me, however my california kingsnake regurgitated when I picked him up briefly 24 hours after he fed.

Ya the very lest that you should wait before handling the snake is 24 hours. Anytime before that and you take a big risk of them throwing up, which can be extreamly bad for the snake as well.

Re: Q about handeling
We go with the same routine as Shelby described....everyone gets 48 hours of no handling after each meal...more so if it's the first feeding of a slightly larger prey item or special circumstances like a brand new snake or a very nervous one, etc.
We do go longer with the BCI but since he eats twice monthly (rather than weekly like the balls and the milk) we like to give him a good 3 or so days of peace and quiet after "dinner".
