    what should I do?

I hope you'll be able to give me some answers!!

First, The place where I bought my BP said they'd hold it for me until today so I started to set up my tub this past monday, getting everthing ready. Out of curiousity I used a heating pad to see what temps I could get. They were to low and inconsistent (you probably would have know that). Anyway, I'm waiting on the flexwatt and therm. When I realized I wasn't going to get the flewatt and therm by tuesday I went out and bought a zoo-med (i will be taking back) to help get the temps up. Temps were so inconsistent, still. In the tub I do have spots that are no higher than 93 and no lower than 82 would I be OK to introdoce the BP today or should I beg the store to keep holding him (he is pd for).

When you say temps are inconsistent, what do you mean? If you have a temperature gradient of 93 at the warm end and 82 at the cool end, it sounds just fine. What are you controlling the heat with? That would be my big concern is that you dont get some kind of temp spike if you arent controlling it with a thermostat or rheostat.

    Re: what should I do?

Until my flex watt and therm arrrives ...anyday now, I'm not controlling temps with anything. Trust me that's not the situation I wanted to be in. However, I was told I could only have the store hold my BP for a week. I ordered everthing a week before thinking I'd have everything ready and a 24-48 window before I got the BP. I was wrong. So i did the alternative, heating with a zoo-med.

The temps flucuate a lot. especially under the hides.

    Re: what should I do?

Its a difficult situation it seems. I would be hesitant to put a BP in a tank with wildly fluctuating temps. Why not run to petsmart or petco and pick up a thermostat or rheostat and then return it when yours comes in or keep it for a spare as a backup? Otherwise you could ask them to hold the snake for a couple more days and see if they will. Best of luck!

Gotta love a good return policy! Even a rheostat will hold you for now.
