As for the fur, unless you're missing a few cats or a sweater or something, it's most likely from the rats. As far as I know, it's perfectly normal to find fur in their stool. And the amount of the fur depends on what the snake used or didn't use as nutrients, I suppose, lol.
On a slightly different topic...Does anyone else, when finding a nice log in their snake's enclosure, have evil thoughts to wrap it up in a Tootsie Roll wrapper and offer it to someone?That, or I'll get a craving for a Tootsie Roll. Either or, really.
