    Question Shed?

While I was handling Monty this morning before cleaning his enclosure, I noticed that his head seems to have a bluish cast. His eyes are clear. He went through a shed less than one month ago. Is it possible for him to go through another one so soon? BTW, Monty is less than a year old.

Sure. From my experience, they'll go through a shed every month or so while they're growing so fast. Just keep in mind that in the first year of life, they put on about 1000% (or more in some cases) of body weight. Think of it like a 7lb newborn baby being 70lbs at the end of year one. Pretty fast growth.

    Re: Shed?

My 4 month old finished shedding about a week ago and still has her eye caps and a bit of old skin still left on her head, using a most towel i let her pull away against it hoping she would shed the rest. is there anything i can do? btw i added a humidifier to the setup so next shed should go more smoothly.

    Re: Shed?

Take a suitable sized tupperware or rubbermaid container, put a couple of paper towels in it, and add just enough lukewarm water so that the towels are completely saturated and there is a slight puddle on the bottom. Put your snake in it and put the lid on (you may want to add a small hole or two to the lid) and put the container back in the enclosure for one hour. After the time is up, remove the snake and let it run through a warm, damp towel. This worked for me.

    Re: Shed?

Incidentally, when should I bump up the humidity in the enclosure? When he is looking bluish, when his eyes cloud up, or at some other point?
