Back to the giant Crock photo

I just read this and thought I would share:

Giant Crocodile Photos In New Orleans Hoax Circulating On Net.

For the past month a set of photos of a giant 21 foot crocodile has
been circulating the web. The crocodile was supposedly found in New
Orleans. The pictures are of it being loaded (dead into a large dump truck.)

With each copy of the set of photos I’ve seen details have varied.
“Killed by army.” Feasted on dead bodies.” “Got into the city via the
    flood.”

But the following posting on the PARC listserv pretty much explains
    this one.

    ”Dear PARC,

Can I please bring to your attention the latest email hoax that's
    plaguing
us, in case you see the same thing and need the facts.
There's an email doing the rounds claiming a 21 foot crocodile was
    found
swimming in downtown New Orleans. There are three pictures attached of
    said
crocodile in the back of a truck. I've been sent this email about 25
    times
in the last 48 hours, so it's clearly caught peoples' imaginations.

In reality, the pictures show a Nile Crocodile and were taken in
    Africa. I'm
trying to find exactly where it came from, because the pictures have
    been
attached to at least two other stories in the past 18 months. The most
recent I have claims that it came from Azur in the "Republic of Congo"
    and
that it was also 21 feet long.

The size has been strongly disputed in the past - it looks more like a
    17
foot croc. There are no authentic records of Nile crocs reaching 21
    feet.

If anyone does know anything more about this, I'd be keen to hear about
    it.
Likewise, if I hear anything from colleagues in Africa I'll let you
    know.

    Best wishes,

I thought this thing would be dead by now. At this rate it might become an urban legend of some kind

It's already proven to be inaccurate.
