    Question

Why don't we measure BP weight with ounces and pounds instead of grams? I ask only because I have no idea how much something weighs if someone tells me its weight in grams.

    Re: Question

Mostly because its a lot more accurate. You can tell exactly how much your snake is gaining or losing in grams, where as ounces aren't so accurate. Also in the scientific community the metric system is used and it just gradually switched over to herp keepers.

Accuracy? They're just numbers. The machine doing the weighing is what is accurate or inaccurate. I know vets usually use weight in kg to determine medicinal dosages, so maybe it started there.

    Re: Question

Me too. Metric all the way.

By the way, the most convenient conversion tool is google.com. If you just type 24in in cm; or 35cm in in; or 30gallons in litres; or 5oz in grams or whatever it is you want to convert, then hit search - it recognises that you want to convert units and it does it for you. It will recognise unit abbreviations too, so instead of 'litres' you can just type 'l'.

I don't work for google or anything, but I do think they make life a little easier!
