    Sterilite Tub Setup

After getting my sterilite tub a couple weeks ago, Im gonna start working on it. Im gonna do 1/8" holes all the way around. Then Im gonna build a base of 1/4" plywood. Then for heating I'll electrical tape the 2 12"x11" peices of flexwatt underneath the plywood. Will the single peice of flexwatt be enough even though the tub is 16" wide and the flexwatt is 11" wide. Also what should I do with my snake while Im setting this all up and trying to get the temps right.

I would think one piece would do it, but you'll have to see how your temps are after you get it setup. You should get the temps up ASAP or you'll be making a trip to the vet for a RI. Do the work now, do not put it off. It's not something that can wait.

    Re: Sterilite Tub Setup

The other cage shes in now has the correct temps. If I put her in another sterilite tub while I put the heating together and get the temps semi-close, would that be ok. Also I drilled the holes last and went with one row all the way around 3" apart and 1/8" in diameter, Its on a 56 qt sterilite. This doesn't seem like a lot of room for ventilation, did I do it right.

    Re: Sterilite Tub Setup

You'll have to measure to see if you have good ventilation. If the humidity is too high add more holes or make the existing ones bigger. (just a thought) If you have a cage that is the correct temps, why the new cage unless the other is too small? Why not just keep her in the one she's in until the other is tweaked?

    Re: Sterilite Tub Setup

I changed from a glass tank to sterilte. I got the temps close to normal, except for the cool side wouldn't go above 77F. When I get home Im gonna try and get the flexwatt working again that I had on the cool side. The humidity is about at 45% w/o any misting.
