Make sure you have two hides, one on the hot side (92-94) and one on the cool side (82-84). Make sure the hides are just big enough for your snake to fit inside and are nice and dark. Measure temps with a digital thermometer - no dials or strips!! If the environment is right and he still seems scared, then it may be something you just have to work on.
