Welcome to the addiction! You should watch out for wire mesh lids as well. if you've got a cage that uses them, you want to make sure that wires are acutally "melted" together where they meet.

Thanks for the tip, the lid to my case has a wire mesh, but the edges are enclosed by the rim of the lid on both top & bottom so that you don't even see the edge. I am going to assume this is okay unless you tell me differently.
