That's exactly what you would call it. Although not accepted in the conformation rings, White German Shepherds are just another color variation of the German Shepherd Dog. The first dog to ever make a German Shepherd was all white. It was called the Alsatian Wolf Hound. Some how, during WWII, and the reign of Hitler, he ordered all of the white dogs to be put down. The genetics of German Shepherds is very similar to that of the BP's we talk about a lot. The white is an example of a Co-Dom gene. Black/Tan, Black/Red, Black and Sable are all recessive traits. Two Black/Tans can give you an all white dog. If you breed a white to a Black/Tan (not very highly accepted either) you'll get about half whites and the other half black/tans with a small possibility for a black or a sable.
