How To Tell When A Shed's Coming

Hi, I have several snakes, but just recently acquired my first Boa. A Hogg Island Male (named higgins). The dealer said that he'd not shed while in his care. Higgins is settling in just fine, has eaten twice for us (2 mice each). The dealer indicates he's approximately 1 year old.

I'm used to my Ball Python's "going blue" to the point that they look like space aliens. I noticed the Hogg Island's eyes being slightly blue and hazy for a couple of days, and now they're clear and bright again.

Is a shed in my near future?
If anyone has a any pictures of their BCI's pre-shed that would be great!

Thanks for the photos.. I'm guessing the color-shift that my guy went through was the beginning, so I'll just be patient. As BP's and Western Hognoses have taught me!

    Thanks again!

What I have noticed with my Columbian BCI is that when she sheds it's quick. One day she is in pre-shed, and the next she's shed and I have to find it--usually hid under her water dish. But, she is still pretty small so it's easy too miss it. She's only a little over two feet.

Nope, no BPs. I had one named Shelby, but she passed away from blister disease. I tried very hard to save her.. gave her antibiotic shots, but she didn't make it.

I may pick up some het pied BPs sometime soon.

OOOOHHHHH....het pieds!!! I have a couple of 66% het pied girls I will be getting from Adam after I sell my left kidney (also, a het hypo girl). Hopefully, he doesn't send some scary, smelly, muscle flexing man to collect his payments!

    I absolutely love pieds!

BTW April, did you go to the show yet to pick up your burm and that beautiful yellow annie? (sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread!)

    Update - Perfect Shed

So it took Higgins about 24 hours after I asked my question to decide to shed. And to leave a shall we say "mantastic" gift in his other hide.

    Thanks everyone!
