    Bought an AP cage

    I ordered a T3 model from animal plastics a few days ago. I got the black model with the swing doors and silver hinges and locks and the optional belly heat and two screens on top.

    I am concerned thoughabout a few things.

    Will he think it is too dark in there?

    How hard is it to assemble?

    How do you all feel about yours?

    Do your BP's like them?

    as far as your bp is concerned the darker the better. the T3 that i have came with a detachable flourescent light fixture inside. i'm not sure if that is standard but you could always call and find out.

    it is really easy to assemble. i got mine used and so it had no instructions but it was still really easy.

    i no longer use mine because i switched all my bps over to rack systems. i got the belly heat option on mine--a heat cable routed into the bottom of the cage. my one complaint is that with cable you get hot spots as opposed to more even heat that you get with flexwatt tape. a lot of people use this same model as i have though and have no problems with it. i may just be a little overly obsessive about it.

    I dunno what model I have exactly but I love my AP cage & so does Hissy! Just check out this thread
    http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=25176

    It has good info about the heat coil and such. Assembly is incredibly easy. I was able to assemble it myself on a broken ankle!
    Life is like a game of poker. You can play each hand to the best of your ability but you are still going to run into a bad beat from time to time. What matters is how you handle it. Do you go on tilt or can you maintain your composure & rebuild your stack?

    I ordered a T3 about 5 weeks ago and am still waiting for it. But I did a ton of research before I purchased talking to other T3 or animal plastics owners. I can't give you 1st hand experience on any of those questions but from what I gathered by asking most people like the cages and don't have many problems with them. I was told that they are dark and the light would benefit you during cleaning and routine maintenance more than it would the snake. Hopefully I'll have mine this week or very early next week and can give you a better prelim assesment after I've received my snake from Adam and have had a chance to work with both her and the enclosure for awhile.

    Re: Bought an AP cage

    I have a T3 for my BRB and he tells me he loves it . I have not been thrilled with the heat rope but that is a whole 'nother topic all together.

    Dark = more gooder!
    Assembly = muy easy
    Overall = A+ baby!

    I wouldn't have gone with screens for a BP but that is just me. You might end up losing too much humidity. See what happens though! Good luck!

    you can always ask for the inserts (the circles they cut out where they put the screen). mine has the screen holes in the top and i used to just put the inserts over them when i needed to raise the humidity.

    Re: Bought an AP cage

    I have a stack of 4 T3's and I love them they are easy to clean easy to feed in and not as dark as one would think. I had 3 of mine made with a solid top and 1 made with with screen holes, they gave me the "cut-outs" in the event I need them. Also when I received mine the top was a little damaged on the screened one, but still worked. They sent me out a new top and told me to jsut keep the other top they are great people to deal with.

    Hey, I'm a bio teacher! They try to make us teach english but sheesh that's certainly not MY job!

    Seriously though, when I say things like suffice, synomomous, feasible and my students look blankly at me I feel like banging my head against a wall.

    I try to look at the bright side though. My kids stop whining that I use "big words" right after they end up getting an assignment from their english teachers that requires them to list and define SAT words. When my students pull out their "SAT word sheets" for english and then ask me to spell words and define them in bio class I almsot feel a little cool
