    New here a few questions

Hi all, I got my first BP a few weeks ago and he seems to be doing fine except for two things. He seems to have not shead properly the last time he shed. When I stroke him a few individual, seperate scales seem to come off on my hands. He soaked for nearly two days about 10 days ago and I was expecting him to shed shortly there after but nothing happened. He never had a pick belly or cloudy eyes so I don't really think he was going to shed now. Anyone else have this problem? What do I do about it?

Everything else seems to be fine, he eats very well, has passed four urates, deficated once, and is extremely good tempered.

Re: New here a few questions

    First, welcome to the boards.

It can be hard to say because we can't see your snake. If possible, post a picture of him.

Sometimes between sheds, if the snake scrapes his skin on something, a thin layer of the epidermis (dead outer layer) can come off. This may be what's happening, and it's no big deal.

You soaked him a lot, so it doesn't seem likely for it to be stuck shed. Normally stuck shed is in larger patches. Usually the head and tip of the tail get the worst of it. It can't hurt to soak him again though.

btw.. what part of Illinois are you in, if you don't mind?

Well, just keep an eye on him. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

you may be fairly close to this herp show:

It's fun, if you get a chance to go sometime.
