1969 is the default date for many computer and database systems ... it basically means "no date supplied".

Hahahaha! Finally something that deals with my specialty. Actually the internet was around. But not the way we know it today. This was the Arpanet and it was funded by The Feds (government/military) . Its official first networking was between UCLA and Stanford Research Institute. This was the precursor to our Internet. The year....Good Ol 1969!
