Provent-a-mite is a wonderful product and seems the best at getting rid of mites. You can find it online, and if you're lucky you might be able to find at a local store. And I can not stress enough the need for cleanliness!!! Make sure you are very careful not to transfer them to your other snakes. Good luck.
Cause when push comes to shove you taste what you're made of
You might bend, till you break cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up decide you've had enough
You get mad you get strong wipe your hands shake it off
Then you Stand
here's a link you might find helpful. it's an article (the war on mites) written by tract barker from vpi. you'll find lot's of data and useful suggestions here, as well as a few things not to do.
willy, thanks for that info link. i wish i had that too read a month ago when i had a few mites. looks like my vet gave me some good stuff though. it worked great and wasnt harmful on my snake.
So, this begs the question....can your snake pick up mites from your home? Knock on wood, Kashmire is mite free, and is not exposed to other snakes. How could/would he pick up mites? The ignorant people at my pet store said "oh, everyone has mites in their homes, so any snake can get mites" (while dismissing the mites that they had on their baby bp's - and I did NOT get Kash from them).
