I guess she figures this way she can stay in one spot, and not travel the long 6 inch jurney from hot to cool hide. I have however removed the leaves a couple times and she then stays in one hide, and then goes to the next and so on. Is it more healthy for a snake if they are thermoregualting by going from hot to cool and back again, or is it ok that she wants to stay under the leaves were it is 86 or 88 F. I also thought that after snakes ate, they wanted and needed to be in the hotter section to help with digestion, but i have seen my BP on most occasions go to the cool hide, or go back under the leaves.
Relax, your snake knows what it's doing.
