Quick Question... Air Requirements
I'm getting rid of the screen cover on Casper’s enclosure; it's not very good when it comes to holding humidity. I've purchased .220 inch Plexiglas, I’ve cut it to size, sanded the edges. Now that it all fits well, looks well, I need to drill some holes for air and such. Can you suggest to me how much air is needed for a healthy snake enclosure? Thanks in advance!

Re: Quick Question... Air Requirements
Okay, I've got 2 rows of 8 holes, each 5/32 of an inch. One row down each end of the tank. 16 holes total, the take is 36X18X18. If you think there should be more, please let me know!

Re: Quick Question... Air Requirements
You want to make the holes so that:
1. They allow air to circulate in the enclosure
2. They prevent lots of heat from leaving the enclosure
3. They keep the humidity that you want
If I were building a rubbermaid enclosure, I would set the enclosure up completely and record the temps and humidity. To lower the humidity and temps I would begin placing holes in the enclosure until the needed levels are obtained. As far as a bp breathing, they really do not consume alot of air so the holes that you put in to adjust humidity and temperature will usually work well if they allow air circulation.
