Awwww, my daughter loves me... :)

My daughter who is going on 14 this month, went to the mall with friends this AM. She came home with a bag from Bath & Body Works for me! She knows I absolutely LOVE that store and definately have my favorite products. So, I opened the bag and found a bottle of shower gel, body cream, lotion, bar soap to match, body scrub and the body splash ~ oh and hand soap.. all my very favorite scent ~ Warm Vanilla Sugar! I was so surprised and delighted because she knew that I needed more of some of the product (body cream and shower gel), just had not gotten to the mall to get it. I offered her to pay her back (as I got out the cash, knowing she put out ALOT of $ for this stuff), and she said "No way Mom, I got those for you, wanted to let you know I was thinking of you, cause you do so many nice things for me and sacrifice things you want for me and Mike (her brother)". So I gave her a hug and kiss and thanked her.

I got to say, that is a very pleasant surprise because there are times I feel that she can be awefully self centered due to her age.

My point in sharing this with all of you... it warms a mothers heart to know that her children love her and think of her, even when she feels that they just dont really care. And it is proof that not all teens are always self centered. But to be honest, Victoria often comes home from the mall or where ever it is she has gone shopping with little tokens of love to give to me, I am so lucky I have a wonderful daughter that does love me.

That's so sweet. It gives me hope my little ones won't turn into raving teenage lunatics, at least all the time. Those moments are the most wonderful. I love it when my children randomly come up to me and tell me they love me and give me the biggest kiss and hug. sigh. Of course if they didn't do that sometimes I might strangle the little boogers for driving me nuts the rest of the time.

Hate to bust that lil fantasy bubble of yours there Christie LOL but I have an almost 12 year old daughter....quite frightening how they become at this age!

My two favorite kid things this week from my 4 year old:

    1) Whilst helping him in the bathroom with managing his new boxer shorts.."You help me good Mommy....You're my best Mommy EVER!"

    2) Mikey attempting to find a reason to not stay in bed (after he's gone through the usual "I need a drink...a pee...a snack...another bednight story")..."Mommy we need to have a talk!" then watching him struggle to find a topic interesting or urgent enough to by him some time LOL

My son is so easy, but my daughter scares me! She is so manipulative. I call her my teenage drama queen trapped currently in a 3 yr old body. She's been that way since 2. She really knows how to work people, and she's good at it too. I'm absolutely terrified for teenagedom. I'll be in my closet.

Jo, please leave me my happy little bubble. It's nice there.

I have two wonderful little boys ages 3 & 7. The best thing in the world is an ou- of-the-blue I love you dad w/a great big bear hug. Or whenever a song comes on the radio they really enjoy, that is just a sight in its self.

Christie, are you sure our girls weren't separated at birth? My 8 y/o is often more work than her 12 and 6 y/o bro's combined. Part of it is that she's her mother's daughter - strong willed and bound & determined to have the last word. She is so sweet but such a drama queen! One minute, I have this sweet, kind, tenderhearted little cherub and the next minute, I have this mouthy, argumentative little turkey that I want to strangle. I swear, DH better not deploy his last three years in the military because somebody is going to have to referee the clashes between the 2 of us!
