Yeah, high school is not always a cake walk, but it is an essential foundation. (whether or not you decide to continue on to college) I am completely a goal oriented person, and it helps me enormously. So my suggestion is to establish a list of things you would like to accomplish. If I do 2 hours of homework, then I can spend 1/2 hour playing with the pets or guitar. If I keep my grades up then I can get that new pet. Try to figure out where you would like to go in life. (now that is sometimes a tough one) What kind of jobs interest you, and then maybe even find a part time job on weekends and test them out. If things aren't working for you, then yes you need to change. Don't expect to do the exact same thing and come out with a different result, it doesn't usually happen. I am all for talking with parents if you feel comfortable enough. I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful set of parents and could always talk things out. If nothing else your parents may be a little more sensitive to your needs, even if can't think immediately of something to help. Anyway, talking is a great solution and I commend you. I think you'll be able to figure out what will work for you, but just make sure to explain those needs to others. Anyway that's my opinion for what it's worth.![]()
