    Shedding question

my snake has shedded all of his skin except for the top of his head, his eyes, and a little bit going down the top of his back, he won't go in his humid hide anymore and i've tried rubbibg his head with a wash cloth but nothing is working can anyone tell me if i'm doing something wrong or if there is anything else i can do, he completely shedded the rest of his skin about 3 days ago.

    Re: Shedding question

Get a rubbermaid container that will fit inside your snakes cage ... fill it half the height of your snake with tepid water and put your snake inside ... seal the lid and place the container inside your snakes cage ... an hour to an hour and a half .... when you take your snake out the skin should just slide right off ... if it does not ... repeat once a night until it's all gone.

Been doing this for years ... works every time.

I don't use airholes .... not for an hour at least .... the idea is to let the air become humid inside the box.

Remember, ball pythons are cold blooded ... they do not use oxygen to generate their own body heat like warm blooded animals do and as a result can survive for long periods of time without nearly the amount of air a warm blooded critter like a gerbil or a cat would need.

Trust me, it works better without the air holes!
