a day of firsts

This weekend I have built my first snake rack for BP's, it worked out really well...thanks to my step dad and his woodshop. I didn't actually fill with completely with shelvs as I don't need the room but the way it was designed it leaves room for 2 more levels of shelves. It looked kind of blan since I didn't stain or paint it...not wanting have a risk of such chemicals in contact with the snakes...anyway I did put some wood sealer on it and after final light sanding I applied some black marbel contact paper to each shelf and it really makes it look good. Currently 3 shelves by two tubs. Next up will be tracking down some 3" flexwatt and a t-stat.


OH! and one of my new 100% het albino males has eaten his first two hoppers since I have ad them...Working on the other one now is isn't showing much interest yet.

its not all that special but I will post some pics...need to snap a couple of the new boys to.

I forgot to add another first for this weekend/yesterday...Now this wouldn't be a big deal but I have kept BP's for a few years now (6'ish I think) and I've never really been bitten. A snout jab a couple times but that was it. One of the new little hets decided to tag my finger when I had one in each hand...I think he knew it was about to be bath time!

Have to keep working on the other male to see if he will eat for me.
