    Why I love this board

Let me count the ways! LOL

You guys have been the most patient group of people I could hope to meet, and I've been on several ball python forums. There are others that are equally as nice as this, but this one feels like "home" to me!

Wonderful breeders, ball python keepers, and future breeders who truly took the time to learn all they could about ball python husbandry and are willing to mentor those of us who are new to the game.

While I am nowhere near the stage that I am even thinking about breeding, it's a very real possibility for me in the future, and I just glean so much information off this group.

You have breeders like Adam who are willing to talk to you for as long as needed to answer all your questions, even if you didn't purchase your snake from them, all because of their love and passion for this wonderful creature!

And you've gently showed me how I can improve my husbandry without being condescending and calmed my fears of being a bad bp mommy!

You've quickly answered any "newbie" question I've had, or talked me through a panic (He's not eating! He regurged! He's got parasites!).

So, thank you all. I am so relieved now after getting Kash to the vet, which had I not found you, I probably would not have done. I would have probably discounted his regurg as stress caused by still acclimating (I've had him two weeks today) and tried to re-feed tomorrow, all the while, he would have gotten sicker.

    Gratefully,

    Robin

ROCK ON Robin!! ... Bp.net is awesome!!!

Sorry I missed your call tonight, I was elbow deep in snake poo cleaning cages .... Tuesday and Thursday nights are cleaning night and I gotta ignore the phone or I'd never get anything done

Glad to hear that you liked the new vet and that things went well!

If you need anything, you know how to find me

Re: Why I love this board

I agree with Robin, You guys are all great. I have had a few trying times to say the least with my first BP experience with a sickly little feller, and I am sure I am not compleetly out of the woods with the new Loki either, however, I feel a lot more secure knowing I a means to get answers to the questions that I have. I just hope that one day, I will be able to repay the favor to a newby that needs help. Thanks to all for the advice, and help.

LOL Adam! Yes, I know where to find you! I even have your number programmed into my cell phone (but not on speed dial.....yet! LOL).

I totally understand, those babies come first (after all, aren't they all babies to us?).

I thank you again for your patience with me! You have been such a great resource to me, and I hope I have not worn out my welcome with my calls to you.

By the way, when I was telling the vet some things you had recommended, he said "sounds like you found someone who really knows his ball pythons, and is giving you very sound advice, so I would continue to take his advice when he offers it". I think I told you on my message that he LOVED your balled up newspaper advice, he'd never thought of that before.

I also loved this vet because while I was "grilling" him with questions, he was holding Kashmire and giving him kisses! LOL

Re: Why I love this board

Mike and I too want to extend our deepest thanks to those of this forum (I know we've said it before but heck it's always worth saying again).

We truely feel that our experience with both of our ball pythons would have been so much more stressful for both us and the snakes and more fraught with problems had we not stumbled into this forum and you wonderful, patient folks.

We always feel we can ask things here w/o fear of being ridiculed or talked down to. We've learned so much here, good practical advice that just plain works. It's great too just to know there are other people that actually like snakes out here LOL. We hardly know anyone locally who has snakes and most people think we are quite nuts to love our b.p.'s. Heck if I have to tell one more person that their little lap dog is most likely more dangerous to my 4 year old than either of my balls could ever be I'll just pop

Yeah, I remember my first post. I was so lost then, and you all helped me out big time. Then I was hooked.
