Where exactly does a Taiwan Beauty fit in in all these groups? I know a lady selling hatchlings for $80.

So, it's not a boa or python; just 'rat' snake? They're constrictors, right?

Yes. A corn snake is also a type of rat snake. They are a few of the many colubrids.. the small, or 'common' snakes.

So its a colubrid. Thats cool. Got to hold one thats 7.5 feet long. They feel really cool. All ridgy, not smooth like the bp's. The woman who has them is in the herp society I am in, and is in charge of the herptarium at a university in the area. You want to talk about a huge collection, OMG

Taiwan Beauty Snakes (Elaphe taeniura friesi).... I saw a few when I stopped by EbN....they also had some Rhino Rat Snakes which were pretty cool(and expensive)...the Taiwan Beauties are really slender snakes...here are some pics if no one knows what a Taiwan Beauty or Rhino Rat looks like:

Rhino rats are so COOL. First time I saw one I knew I'd have some one day. They are quite pricey tho.. you're right about that.

Ya...I think they were somewhere around $750-$800. I did not care for the 'rhino' horn too much...but other than that...they were beautiful...

Re: which family?
The horn is what makes them so unique though.
