    acronyms

I was reading about a few snakes for sale and they had some acronyms for how the snakes were raised. I already know what wc, ch, and cb mean, but what is cbb? And if there are any other acronyms like that, what are they and what do they stand for? All the help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Re: acronyms

I think it is captive breed and born is what i have hear cbb means. That makes no sense to me cause if its captive breed no duh its going to be captice born. All though like most things i could be wrong.

I guess that if they really wanted to, though, they could breed it in captivity, set it free to have babies, and then re-catch the offspring and sell them.

    Re: acronyms

One how do you tell which ones are the offspring of what you released and 2 the snake you released would have to be recaught 3 what your talking about would be cb and wc cause it would be caught from the wild and put back in captivity 4 breed and born are pretty much the same thing i think

    Re: acronyms

CB is captive born. This technically means that a seller can market the animal as CB which is essentially a CH baby because it was hatched(born) in captivity. Because alot of people may think CB is captive breed, some 'tricky' importers will label them as CB instead of CH in order to trick people into puchasing a CH baby. CBB is a captive born and breed animal...both of the parents were breed in captivity. Personally, I think the term CB should not be used at all because it leaves something open for interpretation. I use CH, WC, and CBB.
