Bulbs, lamps, and a lot of stress
I had a night glow lamp and a 250w heat wave bulp and it sparked i tryed to take it apart but the screw in part broke off, my mind is raceing the temp is droping. I grab the broken bulb take the lamp tell my stepdad to drive to Fin-n-Feather, we arive i talk to the guy i swap the stuff for a wire lamp and a 150w infred bulb(why im walking out a quick sigh), race into my room set the lamp and bulb up turn it on the temp gos up slowly a snap a pic and then here I am.
This is a true strory and was very frighting to me.

Glad it got worked out - and you seem to have absorbed the stress lol. Do you use lamps exclusively for your heat source?

That's understandable. Those stick-on heat pads drive me crazy with their inconsistency.
As long as you can keep the temps and humidity where they need to be it's all good.

You might want to have "more than 1" heatlamp on the side incase of problem.
if you only use a heatlamp, you temp might drop a lot during night isn't it ?
For heat mat, it's better to use a dimmer and a thermostat, that way the temp is always at the right temp. The thermostat will adjust it correctly !

Re: Bulbs, lamps, and a lot of stress
I think you may find quite a few people keep constant temps as opposed to dropping them at night.
That would make a pretty good 2 item poll (constant vs variable) . . . .

Re: Bulbs, lamps, and a lot of stress
ok i found a solution to your problem ok all snakes need a 12 hour day light period and a dark night period and you only use heat lamps well get a 100 watt infrared bulb and leave that on at night and it provides heat and the snake still thinks its dark it seems to be working great for me
